Military
History is an advanced level
High School social
studies offering. This course will provide an introduction to the subject of
military history: The scope of instruction will not be comprehensive. Targeted
topics have been established for appropriate learning objectives. Reading comprehension and note-taking strategies
will be reinforced and the writing curriculum will emphasize analysis,
persuasion, and research. This course is specifically designed to prepare
students for the rigors of a liberal arts college curriculum. Advanced learning
success skills will be introduced and reinforced. The curriculum emphasizes
strategies for the development of critical thinking skills through inquiry
processes, primary and secondary source analysis, and the synthesis of
secondary social studies learning.
